Job Description And Position RequirementsScheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Hours: M-F 7a-3:30p, rotating call
JOB SUMMARY:Manipulates Nuclear Medicine dual head camera and other applicable equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients and general anatomy and physiology as well as the ability for processing these images. Complies with all federal and state regulations governing radioactive materials. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Properly utilizes radioactive isotopes for patient testing, processes images and performs a variety of other duties consistent with providing quality Nuclear Medicine services. Provides leadership to the department. Responsible for annual competencies of staff under their direction. Provides information to the Operations manager about Nuclear Medicine technologists scanning/technique for evaluating purposes. Call is required when Nuclear Medicine services are not staffed at the hospital.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be a graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program. A.R.R.T. registered in Nuclear Medicine, or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and state licensed in Nuclear Medicine by the LSRT. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages. Must possess strong guest relations skills. Should have at least five (5) years' experience in Nuclear Medicine.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 100 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) – lifting, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, hearing, seeing, talking
Frequently (34%-66%) - carrying
Occasionally (1%-33%) – climbing (stairs, ladders, poles, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching
