St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco operates the Multi-Service Center - Northern California’s largest homeless shelter, Navigation Centers for chronically homeless individuals and couples and the Riley Center - Domestic Violence shelter and services for survivors. SUMMARY: 

The EHV Case Manager will report to the Community Office Program Manager and will provide housing counseling and readiness support to Riley Center clients. This position prepares individuals forhousing opportunities and coordinates regularly with HSH and other providers throughout the referral process. Principal duties are performed in the field and in a general office environment. This is a full-time, non-exempt, union position. The schedule includes occasional evening hours and on-call weekend consultations.

SALARY/BENEFIT OVERVIEW

This position pays $32.66 per hour. Kaiser HMO paid in full for employee. Voluntary dental, life, and vision insurance. 403b retirement plan with employer paid match after 1 year of employment. Ten vacation and ten sick days accrued per year. Two personal floating holidays and twelve and a half holidays offered per year. Employee Assistance Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Problem Solving conversations to all eligible survivors
  • Conduct outreach with survivors who are in DV shelters and other locations to connect them to Coordinated Entry services
  • Make referrals into permanent supportive housing (PSH), matching the survivor with the appropriate PSH type
  • Assist survivors with completing housing applications such as Emergency Housing Voucher applications
  • Assist with becoming “document ready”, scheduling and attending appointments, as needed to procure documents
  • Assist with scheduling and attending housing interviews including Emergency Housing Voucher briefing(s)
  • Work closely and maintain relationships with the DV community and Riley Center partners.
  • Participate in regular Riley Center and interagency meetings as needed
  • Maintain program paperwork statistics in an accurate and timely manner (forms, salesforce, statistics and individual client files)
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of domestic violence and community resources
  • Work with the Community Office Program Manager to develop strategic planning process regarding families navigating the system while experiencing DV
  • Upon hiring, complete next available domestic violence training offered by Riley Center or a partner organization
  • Participate in appropriate on-going staff development training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Domestic Violence Counselor certification or must obtain within 90 days of employment 
  •  2 years experience working with survivors of domestic violence and indirect services
  •  Working knowledge of San Francisco and Bay Area community resources and referrals
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate traumatic situations (domestic violence, child maltreatment, and substance abuse)
  •  Demonstrated skills in case management and client advocacy
  •  Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  •  Basic reporting skills, including data entry (ex. Salesforce) and proficient in Microsoft Office
  •  specifically, Outlook, Work and Excel
  •  Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  •  Ability to maintain professional boundaries with co-workers, clients, volunteers and staff
  •  Familiarity with Harm Reduction philosophy and approach
  •  Understanding of domestic violence issues, especially in context to race, class, gender, and sexual identity
  •  Knowledge, experience, and comfort working with a diverse community, including understanding the racial disproportionality within the child welfare system
  • Commitment to the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco
  •  Valid Driver's License preferred

Covid vaccination with one booster and negative result on TB test required.
