Sta-Dry Roofing is Hiring an Experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent Near Doraville, GA

Responsibilities / Functions:

Receive Project Specifications with Project Manager:

  • Review and Discuss Contract Specifications
  • Identify Project Start Date with Operations Manager

Re-read the specifications covering every section and verify with hand-off notes that everything is covered and accounted for. ASK QUESTIONS IF UNSURE!

Meet with Foreman, or Sub to review the project.

  • Review breakdown for stock and set-up, tear-off, lay-up and detailing on drawing
  • Go over list of all necessary equipment needed for the project and provide copy to warehouse 1 week in advance
  • Provide a material list to warehouse prior to ordering project
  • Review all highlighted specifications with the foreman to insure total compliance

Receive Superintendents’ Project Manual from Project Manager:

  • Staging Safety Perimeters Lay-out on Roof Plan
  • Material Safety Data Sheet and Closest Hospital Information (in separate book)
  • Daily Reports complete with Roof Drawing preset-up for project
  • Emergency Contact List (Sta-Dry and Customer)
  • All local vendors contact info (dumpsters, local distribution, etc)
  • Copies of all purchase orders (without pricing)
  • Copies of Equipment and Supplies from Warehouse
  • Copy of Specifications (roof related only, exclude admin.)
  • Roof Plan complete with fastening pattern, insulation type/size, membrane type/size and perimeter sheets required
  • Roof plan with tear-off and installation plan
  • Detail Drawings (manufacturer or consultants) VERIFY EVERY CONDITION
  • Weekly Tool Box Talks

Attend In-House Pre-Construction Meeting:

  • Attending: Project Manager and Operations Manager
  • Held at jobsite or office
  • Discuss prepared agenda, which includes:
  • Review of Roof Plan
  • Discuss Construction Staging Areas (ladder, dumpster, crane, port-o-let placement) to be Approved by Client
  • Review any Additional Client (house) Safety Policies
  • Interior obstacles (customer personnel, sensitive areas, conduit in decking, etc)
  • Review Construction Schedule
  • Discuss Daily Contact Protocol (client contact if required)
  • Emergency Contact List
  • Review and Discuss Construction Process and Client Expectations
  • Complete pre-construction job-site inspection form and photo document any pre-existing conditions / damages to facility

Loading Project

  • Superintendent and Project Manager at job site for loading
  • Verify material receipts and compare to material purchase order. Document backlog and discrepancies
  • Load and stage safety before any material goes up
  • Distribute material safely throughout the roof to not jeopardize the building structure
  • Protect grounds at dumpster with flag stands and or cones
  • Drape building wall at dumpster to protect from debris damages, or develop other means prior to starting the project
  • Organize material on roof to match pre-planned installation goals
  • Protect material by covering and securing with shrink wrap
  • Strategically place material on roof to coincide with roofing plan
  • Verify re-roof plan and scope of work with the foreman on the roof
  • Mark tear-off / lay-up areas on roof with fluorescent spray paint

Supervising the Project:

  • Review daily plan with foreman
  • Conduct quality control inspections to insure project is being done in accordance with the specifications and 100% as the crew works.
  • Mark the roof where probed and QC’d with initials and date
  • Review forecast with foreman daily / weekly outlook
  • Confirm strategy with foreman daily
  • Visit with customer / tenants to insure no problems.
  • Continually communicate regularly with the customer to diminish misunderstandings concerning the contract to create total customer satisfaction with job in process
  • Identify all RFI’s and change orders and present or review with the project manager
  • Attend weekly superintendent’s production meeting with the operations manager and project managers to review and update schedules. Meeting will be attended either in person, or by conference call.
  • Trouble-shoot issues quickly and effectively to promote customer relationship and to promote repeat business.

DAILY

1. SAFETY:

Verify in place and crews follow company policies.

2. HOUSEKEEPING:

Grounds & Roof are continuously clean and in order.

Determine needs as you go to ensure total compliance.

3. COMMUNICATION:

Until we implement our new project management software, Daily Reports are to be submitted to the project manager and cc the operations manager and the project administrator before 8:00 AM the day after and must include the following:

  • Photos and videos to be taken throughout the day and uploaded into company cam in real-time.
  • Submit an updated roof drawing highlighting area work, squares installed, and any unit measurement totals for the day.
  • Can forklift be pulled from site? If not, then why?
  • Number of dumpsters pulled for the day.
  • Plan for the next day
  • It is the superintendent’s responsibility to collect all info from Subs and submit, and ensure photos are uploaded into company cam

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
