ECU Health is hiring experienced surgical technologists for opportunities within our Travel Staffing Program.
Opportunities are available in the laboratories at many of our nine hospitals across eastern North Carolina. Essential job functions include:
- Has the ability to scrub and has working knowledge and understanding for all types of surgical procedures
- Displays dexterity in use and handling of surgical equipment, instrumentation and assisting physicians
- Maintains integrity, safety and efficiency of sterile field
- Work under the supervision and authority of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective direct patient care
Position summary
Maintains the integrity, safety and efficiency of the sterile field throughout surgical procedures. Prepares and arranges instruments and supplies. Assists the surgeon and assistants throughout the operation by providing sterile instruments and supplies. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote personal and professional development. Participates in Service Excellence Program.
Minimum Requirements
- At least two years of experience
- Graduation from an approved surgical technology program, certification from a military program or graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN/LPN)
- Certification in the field of surgical technologist
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
- Not currently employed by ECU Health or separated for 92 days, having left in good standing
