The Role:BrandCycle is looking to hire a User Experience Assurance Engineer for a 100% remote position. You will own quality control over all of our products, and work closely with our product team to deliver user-centric features that shape the future of our platform.
Must be U.S. based.Types of Work You'll Do:
  • In partnership with product management you will participate in product discovery, identifying gaps and improvement areas within specific user journeys and across BrandCycle’s product suite. Act as a force multiplier to assist your team in optimizing and planning for product experience and quality improvements.
  • You will handle manual testing as well as maintain reusable test components and patterns delivering impact through risk mitigation.
  • You will contribute to other internal technology improvements and operation automation critical to the product experience for our users.
  • Implement comprehensive user experience evaluation strategies, ensuring thorough coverage of use cases and driving user journey evaluation by reviewing data and talking directly with users.
  • Work closely with product teams to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems and independently work towards results. Be the primary point of contact for customer facing teams when they have support questions or inquiries about something they’re experiencing within the product.
  • Contribute significantly to improving product quality and our users and the overall experience.
  • Collaborate to define and establish user experience assurance standards, methodologies, and processes to be integrated seamlessly into the product development process.
What You'll Bring:
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience as a QA engineer with a focus on automated tests and delivery pipelines.
  • Deep curiosity for what will make users’ lives better.
  • Experience working closely with engineers and designers to deliver solutions.
  • You can discern a good user experience from a bad one, and whether a design delivers a quality solution or not. You can catch subtle details in code and UX/UI.
  • Strong ability to write and understand code, and learn new languages.
  • You excel at discussing deeply technical topics and user problems, with either internal stakeholders or external customers.
  • Familiarity with unit, functional and end-to-end testing automation tools such as Selenium and related practices. Familiarity with Storybook or other UI component testing practices.
  • Solid understanding of browser rendering behavior, performance issues, and optimizations.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with third-party API integrations.
Big pluses:
  • UX Metrics and Business Insights: Gathering and analyzing internal data from products and operational systems to inform product strategies and decisions.
  • Process and Practices: Establishing efficient processes and practices that support the product lifecycle and ensure alignment with business goals.
What to Expect:
  • Screening process: You'll receive a short multiple choice test, have a recruiter phone screen, and then you’ll hop on a quick call with the hiring manager so we can get to know you better — and you can learn a little more about the role.
  • Take home challenge: We'll send you some materials to work on with zero monitoring, at your own pace. The general time frame for most candidates will be an hour or two. Then you’ll be meeting with 2-3 team members on a video call where we will dive deeper into your technical background. This is your chance to ask questions and see who this role interacts with on a daily basis.
  • Final Video Call: This is a great opportunity to get to know one of our senior executives over video.
  • Offer: We send over an offer and you (hopefully) accept! Welcome to BrandCycle/StackCommerce!
Compensation:Our overall compensation and rewards package includes base pay, bonus or commission, and a variety of benefits. Base pay is determined within a range that allows you the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $90,000- $110,000 (this range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions). Your initial base pay will be determined based on several factors, including demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, travel requirements, and job location.
Benefits Perks:As a company, we have a lot to offer for the right candidate:
  • Health Benefits: We offer medical, dental, vision, life, and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401K: Eligible on your first day of employment.
