Stackpoint Ventures is Hiring a Head of Marketing Near Boston, MA

About Stackpoint

Stackpoint is a venture studio that conceives, builds, and scales companies at the intersection of real estate, finance, and technology. Led by co-founders who have both built unicorn real estate tech companies from scratch, we’re a team of expert operators with decades of experience building products, teams, and businesses from startup to scale. We focus all of our energy on discovering and solving customer and business problems, designing financially strong and defensible business models, activating growth engines, hiring world-class founding teams, and helping them thrive (and none of our energy on big-company b.s.). We launch 2-3 companies per year. Our dedicated capital, experienced team, proven process, and deep strategic network supercharge founders and accelerate growth. We’re based in Boston but have a distributed team and operate in a hybrid model.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a creative, entrepreneurial, and energetic person with deep B2B product and content marketing experience to join our Studio team. You will own marketing for our Studio and portfolio companies, partnering closely with our portfolio company CEOs and Studio team members across engineering, product, design, finance, and operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a world-class marketer who loves building from scratch, balancing strategy with hands-on execution, and working in a close-knit team of seasoned operators who are deeply committed to their craft and each other. It also provides the opportunity to earn substantial startup equity while diversifying risk, as all team members hold equity in each company we create during their time here.

Key Responsibilities

First, some high-level framing on the role:

  • Studio vs. Portfolio Company Focus - You’ll balance effort between Studio marketing (that is, marketing Stackpoint as a “B2B product” to our key audiences) and working with typically 1-2 active portfolio companies at a time.
  • Strategy vs. Execution - You’ll drive strategy across the board and do a healthy amount of hands-on execution, but bring in contractors/vendors where it makes sense.
  • Building the Plane vs. Flying the Plane - You’ll balance effort between driving projects and outcomes and helping build our Studio “machine” by creating repeatable processes, tooling, automation, and a network of trusted contractors and vendors.

Functional responsibilities, listed in order of importance for the role:

  • Overarching GTM Framework - Run point developing our overall go-to-market strategy and motion, and iterate on it as we learn more about our customers, competition, and value propositions.
  • Product Marketing - Drive customer segmentation, product positioning and messaging, product launches, and sales enablement in partnership with our Studio’s partners, our startup CEOs, product, and design.
  • Content Marketing - Define brand voice and tone, own the content calendar, and drive content strategy and creation.
  • Comms/PR - Drive strategy for earned channels where needed to achieve various funnel goals.
  • Field/Event Marketing - Plan and run events where needed to achieve various funnel goals.
  • Recruiting - Help our portfolio companies hire their first in-house marketing team member, and lead recruiting for additional Studio marketing team members as needed over time (we expect this to be an IC role for the foreseeable future - our Studio team is purposefully small, flat, and mighty).
Required Skills & Experience

Functional Expertise

  • B2B Product Marketing - You have at least 5-7 years of experience driving product positioning and messaging, executing product launches, and developing sales enablement content. You collaborate effectively with product, design, engineering, sales, finance, and executive teams to ensure cohesive and compelling narratives.
  • Content Marketing - You have multiple years of hands-on experience defining brand voice and tone, managing content calendars, and executing content strategies. You’re experienced in hands-on content creation as well as managing contractors and vendors for content production. You’re an amazing storyteller and writer.
  • Comms/PR and Event Marketing - While significant hands-on experience in these areas is a bonus, having a working familiarity (and the ability to be a quick study) is acceptable since these are not major parts of the role.
  • Strategy Development - You have experience developing go-to-market strategies from scratch rather than just executing pre-defined strategies. You have worked with different business models and can pattern match to create effective strategies tailored to each unique situation.

Personal Qualities

  • Strategic Thinker & Executor - You’ve demonstrated the ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution. You’re comfortable bringing in external resources where necessary and building repeatable processes and automation to scale efforts.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit - You have a creative and energetic approach to problem-solving and opportunity identification. You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and enjoy building from scratch. You delight in finding new tools that supercharge your creativity and productivity.
  • Prioritization and Multitasking - You excel at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively, and focusing on what is most important. You communicate clearly and align stakeholders to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • Intense Curiosity and Learning Mindset - You continuously develop and refine your skills through hands-on learning and building. You prefer practical application and experimentation — “learning through building” — over theoretical study.
  • Team-Oriented Approach - You excel in collaborative work within cross-functional teams, prioritizing the team's overall success over individual goals.
Comp, Benefits, and Location

We’re well-funded by a network of leading investors and offer competitive cash compensation in addition to equity in our portfolio of startups, along with comprehensive benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance, generous paid time off/sick leave, and a 401(k) plan.

The majority of our team is based in Boston, with others located in New York, Maine, Colorado, and Seattle. We operate in a hybrid mode, enabling in-person collaboration when necessary. This typically involves a few days a month for our Boston team and full-team on-site meetings every 6-8 weeks. While we prefer candidates based in Boston, we are open to applicants from other locations, as our primary goal is to find the best person for the role.

If you’re eager to make a meaningful impact by collaborating with founders to build lasting companies, and you’re interested in joining Stackpoint at an early stage in our mission to become the world’s most successful and respected venture studio, we’d be delighted to hear from you at team@stackpoint.com.
