Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Under the supervision of radiologists or other healthcare providers, you will operate imaging equipment, position patients, and capture high-quality images for interpretation. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to delivering accurate diagnoses and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Imaging Procedures:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, mammograms, and fluoroscopy, according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Position patients correctly and adjust imaging equipment settings to obtain optimal images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide assistance as needed to ensure their well-being and cooperation.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment issues as necessary, escalating technical problems to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Perform routine quality control checks and maintenance tasks to ensure image quality and equipment reliability.
- Patient Care and Communication:
- Educate patients about the imaging procedure, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Position patients securely and immobilize body parts as needed to obtain clear images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and encourage cooperation during imaging procedures.
- Image Processing and Documentation:
- Process and review images to ensure technical quality and diagnostic value, making adjustments as needed for optimal clarity and contrast.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging protocols, exposure parameters, and patient demographics, in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure timely interpretation and reporting of imaging findings.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and protocols to minimize radiation exposure risks for patients, staff, and yourself.
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean and sterile environment in imaging rooms and equipment.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies related to radiologic technology practice.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification board.
- State licensure or certification as required by regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance and patient safety in radiologic practice.
Shift type: 10hr day
Guaranteed hours (weekly) 40
Weekly OT after 40/hrs
OnCall: No
No weekends
Compensation: Starting at $35/hr
