Our client is seeking a Vice President of Safety who can oversee the company's extensive US operations spanning over 200 locations across 48 states, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. The position requires a strategic and hands-on approach, as the work is wide-scale, and the individual needs to be able to actively participate in the operations. Key responsibilities include managing safety for public transit operations, which involves managing contracts with municipalities and cities to provide transit services. The position is based in Lombard, Illinois, but involves approximately 75-80% travel across the companies nationwide footprint. The right candidate will be a strategic visionary who can also roll up their sleeves to help execute a plan. Will lead a team of 5-6 direct reports at the director/senior manager level and have overall responsibility for 17 full time staff.
