Healthcare Financial Analyst - Division of Finance & Rate Setting in Albany, NYItem 1121Responsibilities:· Assist directors and staff in the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP), Division of Finance & Rate Settings, Bureau of Communications, Contracts and Financial Management in a broad range of planning, implementation, reporting, and evaluation activities related to grants and miscellaneous service contracts.· Use the NY Statewide Financial System (SFS), which is the invoice and billing database system used by the OGS Business Services Center, to access work items, work with supporting documents, research and prepare responses regarding invoice payments, and check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions that were entered into SFS.· Use the Statewide Financial System (SFS), NYS government’s accounting and financial management system, to access, research and enter financial data related to various contracts and contract invoices.· Enter numbers accurately, completely, and routinely into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for tracking information related to various contracts and contract invoices.· Attend regular team meetings for assignments and updates on processes and procedures.· Assist in obtaining information from other Department of Health Divisions and Federal offices: clarify and prepare information requests and disseminate, as appropriate.· Performing audits of purchase orders and contracts to ensure proper spending and accurate available balances· Following NYS and OSC guidelines to financial operations for personal and non-personal expenditures.· Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of OHIP. Additional Requirements and Day-to-Day Tasks:• Strong Excel and data analytics skills. • Strong communication skills (written and oral).• Ability to present data to parties with varying backgrounds.• Ability to work independently.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field. Two (2) years of work history in finance or healthcare.
