Healthcare Program Specialist - Transformation Initiatives in Albany, NYItem 1361 Summary:This position will be part of the Transformation Initiatives Unit within the Bureau of Data Insights & Research. The Transformation Initiatives Unit is responsible for providing Medicaid Program Areas (i.e., Long Term Care, Bureau of Adult Special Populations, Health Homes, Bureau of Social Care and Community Supports) with data analytics support. This support includes, but is not limited to, subject matter expertise in program areas, ad-hoc data analytics, budget implementation support, budget fiscal support, data research, and data visualization. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Healthcare Program Specialist include:Working with Program Engagement Liaisons and Data Analysts on the following areas Working with business units to develop and build models in support of Medicaid analytic use cases. Gathering requirements from program and completing design/technical documentation Working with program engagement leads in the creation of fiscal analyses Providing input on current approaches and recommending continuous quality improvements to best achieve programmatic goals, further enhancing the validity and reliability of Medicaid data. Assisting in data analysis activities based on both data trends and reviews of other state Medicaid programs to monitor Medicaid enrollment, spending, access, and service utilization, and preparing research reports for division management. Performing other duties and tasks as assigned. Basic Qualifications:6 years of experience in healthcareAn associate degree can count as 2 years of experience, a bachelor's degree can count as 4 years of experience, and a master's degree can count as 5 years of experience.Additional Requirements and/or certifications desired for position:Experience with technical writing, business analysis, and presenting are preferred.
