- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with current certification.

- Strong knowledge of AAPC coding guidelines, CPT codes, and related data elements.

- Conduct coding and auditing of charts to ensure the use of correct codes and adherence to clinical documentation standards.
- Review initial client documentation to support treatment claims, including criteria such as the number of antidepressant trials, current medications, and previous diagnoses.
- Utilize pre-screening processes to identify contraindications prior to clients reaching medical staff, reducing liability.
- Perform comprehensive and consistent reviews to ensure billing aligns with medical records.
- Summarize audit findings and provide training to staff on areas for improvement.
- Identify and review documentation trends with leadership to prevent harmful patterns.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
- Stay informed about changes in coding guidelines and maintain up-to-date knowledge of AAPC coding standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
