Security Solutions Architect (Public Safety, MFA, FIDO, Azure) (Hybrid, Harrisburg, PA)

We are currently recruiting a Security Solutions Architect for our client, a Commonwealth PA entity. The focus of this role is to design, implement, and oversee the FIDO (Fast Identity Online) authentication framework within the project and to work closely with the project team to ensure the successful architecture and integration approach of FIDO-based MFA solutions into the existing infrastructure and Public Safety applications.

This contract position is long-term with funding approved until 6/30/2025. Further extensions are likely, and funding is approved every 12 months, 37.5 hours per week role. This position is mostly remote with occasional onsite visits (twice a month) at our client's offices located in Harrisburg PA. The chosen candidate will need to report onsite for equipment pick-up. The preferred candidates should reside within a 2-hour commute of Harrisburg, PA.

This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architectural Design: Develop a comprehensive architectural design for the integration of FIDO-based MFA solutions with the existing systems, including Azure, Microsoft Entra, AD, PKI, certificate services, and Client applications.

• Technology Evaluation: Evaluate FIDO2 security keys, smartcards, and Windows Hello for Business as potential authenticators to meet the client's Security Policy requirements.

• Compliance Assurance: Ensure that the FIDO-based MFA solutions comply with the Client's Security Policy, client's Requirements Companion Document, NIST SP 800-63 guidelines, and other relevant regulatory requirements.

• Integration and Testing: Oversee the integration of FIDO-based MFA solutions with the existing infrastructure, conduct thorough testing, and ensure seamless interoperability.

• Documentation and Training: Prepare detailed technical documentation, guidelines, and training materials for the implementation and maintenance of FIDO-based MFA solutions. This includes working with solutions architects, designers, and developers within public safety.

• successful implementation of multi-factor authentication solutions for the client's project in Pennsylvania, contributing to the security and compliance of the Client's criminal justice information systems and to determine and deploy a client's compliant MFA solution and, to address a client's compliant approach to address machine registration and identification

REQUIREMENTS:

• 20 years of relevant experience.

• 10 years of experience with architecture design and technical evaluation

• 7 years of experience with security engineering/architecture (PKI, MFA, etc.)

• 5 years of experience with technical documentation (materials for evaluation, implementation, guidelines, policy, and the like)

• Experience with CJIS, FBI policy and work with law enforcement, CJIS Security Policy, NIST SP 800-63 guidelines, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

• Experience with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or other state governments, and local government

• Experience in designing and implementing FIDO-based authentication solutions, preferably in the context of CJIS compliance. Proven experience and working knowledge of unified endpoint identification, registration, and authentication, preferably in the context of CJIS compliance.

• In-depth knowledge of FIDO2 security keys, smartcards, Windows Hello for Business, and their integration with Azure, Entra, AD, and other relevant systems.

Compensation: $80/h - $85/h (depending on experience)
