Primary Purpose

· This vital role will support the Leadership Team in developing and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC). Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. Provide technical support and assistance to Project Managers in developing and maintaining a Project Safety Roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project Foreman to recognize site safety concerns and completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) 
  • Advise the company’s Leadership Team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations.
  • Routinely perform Site Inspections by visiting active project sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance.
  • Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
  • Work with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites.
  • Enforce preventative measures.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
  • Maintaining safety related paperwork including OSHA 300 logs.
  • Maintaining safety training certifications including OSHA, MSHA, NFPA 70e, etc..
  • Coordinate Training for company employees on safe work practices and scheduling all training to maintain employees required certifications.
  • Support Project management by applying for permits.
  • Responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Perform periodic inspections of equipment to ensure it is being maintained in good working order and meets OSHA requirements. (i.e. Scissor lifts, forklifts, ladders, harnesses, etc.)
  • Provide, confirm, monitor and document weekly Toolbox Safety Talks.
  • Work daily establishing and promoting positive relationships with all personnel, customers and GC’s.
  • Assist other departments on special programs as requested and as time is available.
  • Works with the Leadership Team to design and implement solutions for the company.

  • Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with the ability to influence behaviors.
  • Must be able to maintain good records of all safety related activities.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to access heights via ladders or scaffolding. A significant amount of electrical work takes place at heights above ground level which require the Safety Coordinator to be able to access the work to evaluate it.

As an Electrical company, all work performed is recognized by Act 593 of 2017 as being “safety-sensitive” and therefore all employees are subject to random drug screening and any consumption of performance altering elements is prohibited and will result in termination.
