STAND 8 Technology Services is Hiring a Tech Project Manager/Scrum Master Near New York, NY

We are seeking a dynamic Scrum Master to join our PMO team. In this role, you will be a solution provider, change agent, master juggler, and guardian of the agile process for your teams. Your passion for process will drive you to keep your eye on the delivery goal while coaching your teams and leading multiple distributed project teams from start to finish. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in the Scrum Master role, enjoys working with technical backend teams, and can make things happen! You will be adept at managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, implementing necessary process improvements, and supporting a diverse team of collaborators.
Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Video Engineering scrum team workflows, task tracking, and project timelines.
  • Create and run team Scrum ceremonies with the goal of increasing visibility, cross-team communication, and risk mitigation.
  • Support 2 teams working on video backend products, handling complex technical tasks related to packing, coding, VOD, and content delivery.
  • Work closely with the Video Engineering teams on ongoing integration and tooling projects.
  • Act as a representative from the Video Engineering team to the program teams in support of larger company initiatives.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders to prioritize and coordinate development efforts to deliver on schedule.
  • Coach, facilitate, and maintain consistent and beneficial Agile process methodologies for the teams, driving process and transparency.
  • Communicate with the business around team velocity and project health, not just for your own teams but supporting the PMO in reporting on all team statuses.
  • Prepare and manage project plans, documentation, risk mitigation, and resource management as needed for cross-team initiatives and large projects/programs.
  • Be available as necessary to troubleshoot urgent issues and remove impediments for the team.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in PI planning, quarterly planning, and implement the SAFe model.
  • Understand Backend API and technical projects within a software development environment.
  • Manage some projects using a waterfall methodology.
  • Serve as a mediator, driving conversations towards solutions and participating actively in meetings.
  • Coach the team on Agile/Scrum methodologies and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Involve deeply with developers, maintaining clear and frequent communication.

Requirements

  • Scrum Master experience with a deep understanding of all things Agile (Scrum, Kanban, and other methodologies).
  • Technical Project Management experience with video streaming technologies.
  • Experience with video encoding systems, media asset management systems, media supply chain, or other video backend technologies.
  • Proficiency in tools: Jira, Confluence, Google Suite, Slack (Jira and Google required; Confluence and Slack preferred).
  • 3-5 years of multi-project management experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, technical (SDLC) environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Agile and traditional frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in roadmapping, planning, fostering iterative processes, and feedback milestones in the SDLC.
  • A proactive, efficient, and resourceful communicator with the ability to thrive in a creative and deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Media supply chain and 6-7 years of Scrum Master experience.
  • Scaled Agile certification and PMP preferred.
  • Understanding of backend API and technical projects within a software development environment.
  • Prefer candidates with streaming experience, but strong resumes from non-streaming backgrounds will be considered.

Nice to have

  • Basic proficiency with standard development software
  • SAFe experience in scrum
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to create good team habits
  • Experience working in Web, Platform, Operations teams in technologies such as Java, Databases, Python and others
  • Backend Release Deployment/Management experience via Cloud Environment such as GCP or AWS
  • Experience with Bitbucket, GitHub and Jenkins

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $60 - $70/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
