Welding Quality Control Inspector

Job Description:

The quality inspector will accurately perform and document quality inspections of pressure vessels and related process equipment, ensuring products conform to applicable drawings, codes, and specifications. Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts and ensure all WIP processes comply with ASME code and QMS requirements. Verify the accuracy of measurement equipment and meticulously follow and record Inspection Test Plan data. Assist NDE Technicians, Authorized Inspectors, and TPIs professionally, and support the creation and assembly of Job Books, organizing MTRs and drawings. Perform NDE as required and create U-1A forms using the EDT system. Verify incoming products meet dimensional and material requirements and assist in implementing ISO 9000, internal auditing, and other process initiatives. Maintain organization and cleanliness in all work areas, participate in 5S activities, and manage the restocking of products/chemicals used in NDE processes. Prepare written requests for contracted NDE, identify welds for technicians, organize RT film, repair documents, and track defects. Be prepared for scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of pressure vessel inspection experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (2 years in a related technical program may count towards this requirement).
• Proficient use of precision measurement tools and gages, including paint inspection tools.
• Ability to perform layout and fitting inspections to blueprints and P&IDs.
