As an Aviation Ground Equipment Technician you'll complete inspections, perform scheduled maintenance, and make any necessary repairs. Recognize and understand flight/product safety critical parts and processes and immediately report flight/product safety concerns.
What you'll do:
- Inspects, tests, and operates Aviation Ground Equipment (AGE) to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Performs scheduled and maintenance on AGE.
- Removes, disassembles, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls AGE accessories and components.
- Services equipment with fuel, oil, coolant, water, hydraulic fluid, and air.
- Operates, cleans, inspects, and services AGE towing vehicles.
- Maintains vehicle forms.
- Evaluates and performs troubleshooting on AGE before assigning repair action.
- Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions.
- Prepares AGE for storage and shipment.
- Uses automated maintenance system to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
- Performs battery serviceability checks.
- Stores, handles, uses, and disposes of hazardous material and waste according to environmental standards.
- Plans and organizes AGE maintenance activities.
- Interprets and implements policy directives and instructions pertaining to maintenance, including environmentally safe maintenance practices.
- Determines resource requirements, including facilities, training, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspects maintenance activities, evaluates resource use, and recommends corrective actions.
- Determines equipment serviceability criteria when it does not exist.
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and control systems.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
- Working knowledge of related company instructions and company processes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
- Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to meet US Persons requirements per ITAR.
