We are Standard Locknut- a local company that specializes in manufacturing of bearings, locknut and other accessories. Posted below is the job description, if interested, please apply. Position Summary:The Design Engineering Specialist will be instrumental in working with the Engineering Department to develop and or improve current product lines as well as developing robust manufacturing processes.Essential Functions:
- Work with cross functional Engineering Team to rationalize product designs
- Utilize 3D scanning and reverse engineering software (VXelements and Design X)
- Assist with design of work holding, tooling, and products.
- Assist with creating and maintaining part models and product drawings utilizing Inventor
- Create/Change Bill of Materials and Part Routings
- Maintain Engineering Specifications
- 1 years’ experience with product design
- Manage customer print/specification records
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- Must have thorough understanding of mechanical assemblies, components, manufacturing and machining techniques, and drawing creation.
- Experience creating part models, assemblies, and drawings, and experience setting up drawing/modeling standards and adhering to existing standards is required.
- Able and willing to work with cross functional teams.
- Performs other related duties as required or as directed.
- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or 1 equivalent years work experience
- 3D/2D drafting experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Project Management experience a plus.
- Commitment to safety, quality, OTD (on time delivery), and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of organization.
- Candidate will need to possess strong organizational, analytical and motivational skills along with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven, performance-based environment.
- Ability to move freely about the machine shop.
- Exposure to continual background noise from machines, HVAC.
- Exposure to dust, oil, chemicals.
- Must wear personal protective equipment as required by law.
