JOB TITLE: Driver / CDL – Over the Road

SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe operation of commercial delivery vehicle, security of truck inventory, accurate delivery and load verification. Responsible for maintaining an efficient schedule between our suppliers and all of our Texas locations to pick up orders and then delivering to each location. This position has a four day work week (Monday through Thursday) and is home every night.

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for verification of products being picked up from our suppliers as well as what is being delivered to our branch locations
• Build and maintain relationships with our Suppliers and the ability to navigate difficult situations
• Knowledge of market territory and ability to efficiently navigate vehicle to scheduled suppliers and branch locations
• Adhere to all state, federal and DOT requirements pertaining to the operation of commercial vehicles, hours of service records, pre and post trip inspections, licensing and safety
• Safely load and unload product from delivery trailer
• Follow all product handling procedures according to Standard Sales Company policy
• Execute delivery instructions from Sales and Warehouse Managers at each Standard Sales location
• Repair and repackage damaged goods from transit
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with other team members
• Maintain a clean work place including tractor, trailer and designated areas at each branch location
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Good communication skills and ability to work and collaborate effectively with others
• Effective time management skills
• Positive customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Class “A” CDL license and maintain a good driving record
• DOT Medical Certification
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age

PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS:

• Customer service skills and good communication abilities
• Prior beverage delivery or DSD delivery experience
• Prior “Over the Road” or long-haul delivery experience
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to move products weighing up to 165 lbs.
• Hang merchandise as needed.
• Bending, pulling/pushing up to 340 pounds on a two-wheeler.
• Ability to continuously stand or walk.
• Ability to bend and occasionally squat.
• Occasional carrying and reaching.
