Stanford University Careers is Hiring a Legal Project Manager Near Stanford, CA

Immediate opening for a full-time Legal Project Manager in the Office of the General Counsel at Stanford University to assist attorneys representing the university and healthcare entities. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and Managing Attorney. Joining our administration team in the Office of General Counsel, you’ll enable operations essential to the university's mission. You’ll provide a full range of legal administrative and operational support to the Office of the General Counsel, including monitoring workflow and prioritizing multiple competing priorities.
OGC works primarily onsite on the Stanford campus. There is the possibility of working from home one day a week. There may be the need for evening or weekend work.
Core Duties—not all duties have been included:
  • Managing files or records of cases in which Stanford is a party, including preparing records for production in government investigations or litigation
  • Assisting attorneys in preparing witnesses for testimony
  • Managing document and records production process in response to subpoenas, warrants, and other lawful requests for information by preparing responses, collecting documents, and reviewing documents
  • E-discovery administration, including maintaining document retention guidelines and maintaining legal hold database and related systems, managing legal holds, collaborating with other university departments to implement legal holds, and document collections and review
  • E-filing in state and federal court and docketing
  • Researching and writing by analyzing documents and materials, summarizing information and facts
  • Updating service of process and legal document acceptance guidelines
  • Maintaining logs of productions in connection with subpoenas, warrants and government investigations, including confidential production request logs required by University policy
  • Preparing reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. At least 3 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal preferred
  • Paralegal certificate from ABA approved program preferred
  • Notary certification
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Proficient knowledge of the federal and state rules of civil procedure and evidence
  • Ability to prioritize and to work with minimal supervision
  • Multitask effectively
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone, writing by hand.
  • Rarely kneel/crawl, twist/bend/stoop/squat, sort/file paperwork or parts.

The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 to $107,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
The final candidate will need to successfully pass a background check to be considered for this position.
