Stanley Martin Companies LLC. is Hiring an Estimator Near Greenville, SC

The Estimator will be responsible for creating Divisional and NHD bills of material (BOMs), validating takeoffs for trade types for division purchasing use, meeting with vendors. Additionally, the position will be responsible for continuing education on all software related to the estimating and purchasing departments and other software to create documents and trackers for estimating progress reports and documenting process in the Estimating manual.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepares DBOM by utilizing exports from the Estimating Data Team and loads DBOM’s into HB1 software
  • Manage Division and NHD DBOMs with any specification related requirements in SharePoint / Dropbox
  • Maintain and understand municipality code requirements and implement where needed
  • Presents prepared DBOMs utilizing the department software, Planswift / Pipeline, or other software
  • Prepares special reports utilizing the estimating software and/or Excel templates by Trade Type
  • Updates Division and NHD DBOMs as part of the DPR process and prior to release and provides quantity adjustments to divisions
  • Work with purchasing department, trade partners, architectural department, and production department to reconcile discrepancies in take-offs
  • Assist field operations in material overages / shortages and meet with vendors as needed
  • Analyze Field Work Orders and prepare reporting to divisions that raises awareness of overages and take-off variances
  • Conduct field audits to validate product quantities to reduce variances
  • Maintain estimating tracking and reporting tools and schedule regular meetings to facilitate managing the estimating workload in assigned divisions
  • Attend Manufacturer and Subcontractor meetings and prepare/distribute meeting notes internally and externally
  • Attend training sessions for internal Estimating Department
  • Attend Divisional Meetings required to manage Division and NHD DBOMs
  • Regular travel required to assigned Divisional offices and Neighborhoods
  • Represent the company professionally in all internal and external interactions and communications
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by manager
  • Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment
