Job Summary:
Star Tribune Media has a great opportunity for a Senior Digital Channel Strategist to develop strategies that will gather data for insights and recommendations to drive both programmatic and campaign performance through various digital media channels.
As a key member of our Digital Advertising team, the Senior Digital Channel Strategist will have the opportunity to partner with internal teams and our advertisers to communicate and implement optimizations, including monitoring the performance of programmatic channels and digital media campaigns against established benchmarks using internal and 3rd party reporting systems. With a strong understanding of industry trends in digital analytics and optimization related to programmatic advertising mediums, the Senior Digital Channel Strategist will consolidate information into meaningful insights and conclusions that provide accurate assessments of campaign performance with actionable recommendations for improvement of these mediums.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal digital teams to implement rigorous test-and-learn methodology across new platforms, new audiences, and new creative types to establish key performance indicators, benchmarks and targets across various marketing channels.
  • Consult with internal teams and advertisers to drive performance and retention of digital business.
  • Perform yield optimizations to maximize ad revenue, profit margin, and campaign performance.
  • Create quantitative and qualitative campaign analysis of marketing campaigns based on objectives and KPI's.
  • Research and stay abreast of current industry best practices and trends, develop and maintain digital best practices, and promote digital optimization techniques.
  • Work closely with vendors/clients to measure and gauge effectiveness and growth of online advertising programs.
  • Manage, prioritize, and respond to ad-hoc requests as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 plus years' relevant experience in paid media or web analytics role, preferably with brand or agency experience.
  • Experience working with DSPs, exchanges, or publishers.
  • Experience with Ad Server technology (DFP or DCM/DFA preferred).
  • Experience with Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.).
  • Experience using a DMP supporting audience strategies (Krux, Lotame, Bluekai, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge across our digital suite of products (SEM, SEO, Display, Email, Paid Social, and Native).
  • General knowledge/experience with HTML and/or Javascript preferred.
  • MS Excel proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, finance, math, statistics or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Tag Management Solutions such as GTM, Ensighten, or Adobe Tag Manager is a bonus.
  • Preferred Knowledge in lead generation and sales funnel conversion.
