Starface is seeking a Copywriter to join our joyful, bold, caring, and resilient Creative team. Reporting directly to our Director of Copy and Concept, you will be responsible for producing compelling copy across our website, packaging, product launches, and more. In this independent but also collaborative role, you’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, creative, social, regulatory, sales, operations, and product to continue to bring our brand voice and mission forward.

we’ll count on you to

  • Work closely with the copy and creative team under the direction of our Director of Copy & Concept to write copy that touches our website, product launches and development, retail partners, brand marketing, press, and other areas as needed (including social media and email).
  • Quickly and effectively grasp and replicate the Starface brand voice, audience, and humor, especially when it comes to distilling product and legal language.
  • Collaborate with design, regulatory, and product on clean, concise, and consistent packaging copy for new and existing products.
  • Be the ultimate source of regulatory compliant claims and language across brand and product messaging.
  • Own, create, and maintain all website copy, including product description pages, homepage taglines, FAQs, and the development of new pages. 
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external retail partners on product description copy, educational materials, and in-store fixtures and displays.
  • Write, edit, and proof assigned copy in regularly shared internal and external decks, including brand messaging and product overviews.
  • Attend stand-up meetings with the creative and marketing teams, brainstorm sessions, and evergreen and launch briefs.

this role is for you if

  • You have 2 years of experience writing copy specifically for products within the beauty space
  • You’re comfortable writing copy that speaks to ingredients, product education, instructions, and general copy that stands out among competitors but is also regulatory compliant
  • You can provide an online portfolio or samples of work that demonstrate your copywriting skills
  • You have the a​bility to produce consistently clean and creative copy with an adept knowledge of grammar and syntax
  • You have a keen eye for the finest details. You’re the one who notices every tiny, minute mistake or typo before anyone else
  • You’re a natural storyteller who can take direction and think outside of the box
  • You’re flexible, organized, and detail-oriented. A “no task too small” attitude is a must
  • You’re a proactive self-starter, but also a thoughtful team player and collaborator with a sense of humor
  • You’re comfortable with juggling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment; this means that you can communicate, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines

salary & benefits

  • The compensation range for this role is a $70,000-$85,000 base depending on level of experience, as well as bonus eligibility and company stock options.
  • Additional benefits include:
