Stars Bay Area, Inc. is Hiring a Behavior Technician Near San Jose, CA

Stars Therapy Services is a company dedicated to empowering children and families toward happiness and wellness. Stars works with Early Intervention, Intensive, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clients. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our clinical team in the Bay Area to provide play-based therapy to children ranging from birth to 6 years old. Job Type: Full-time (32 hours per week) or Part time available

Availability: Monday-Friday or Tuesday - Saturday at 9am - 6pm

Rate: Starting pay range of $22-25/hr (experience and education considered)

Role Overview:

As a Behavior Technician (BT)/Child Development Specialist, you'll provide one-on-one direct therapy in natural environments such as client homes or community settings. Working with children from birth to 3 years old, you'll collaborate closely with parents/guardians to enhance skill acquisition in key areas of childhood development using play therapy techniques. You will collaborate with a clinical team of supervisors and leads as well as a scheduling department for support.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for working with children
  • High School Diploma or equivalent minimum; Bachelors or higher in Psychology or related field preferred
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays, learning disabilities, or behavior disorders.
  • Experience in child development, behavioral therapy, early childhood education, infant teaching, or a related field is preferred.
  • Comfortable thinking outside the box, adapting to a changing environment, and maintaining professionalism with the families.
  • Bilingual (preferred)
  • Previous job roles such as Babysitting, Paraprofessionals, Teachers, Behavior Technicians (BTs), Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs), ABA Therapists, or even Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are a plus!

Basic & Physical Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain DOJ background clearance.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
  • Willing to obtain CPR certification (Company provides upon training)
  • Ability to walk, run, tolerate prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
