What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing and an Associate degree in Nursing are required. Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Four (4) years of direct service experience treating the mentally ill preferred.
• Four (4) years of supervisory experience in an inpatient setting is preferred.
• One (1) year prior experience as a Charge Nurse, supervisor, or Program Director is required. In acute psychiatric setting/skilled care or in-patient psych unit preferred.
• Two (2) years minimum as a Registered Nurse (CA)
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross First Responder CPR certification.
• Valid California Driver’s License

How you will make a difference (Job Overview):

The Nursing Department Supervisor ensures that each Crisis Residential Treatment Center (CRT) client/resident receives the nursing care, treatment, medications, and diet, that have been ordered by the attending physician/psychiatric nurse practitioner, ensuring the overall quality of licensed nursing care for the CRT facility. Aids in the maintenance and implementation of Infection Control and infection mitigation plans. S/he participates in budget development for the Nursing Department and is responsible for its implementation and management. S/he selects, hires, and supervises all staff in the Nursing Department. Aids in developing and maintaining service objectives, standards of nursing practice, nursing policy and procedure manuals, and written job descriptions for all nursing personnel. Maintains ongoing leadership that is in alignment with the agency and program. Maintains and perpetuates departmental adherence to governmental entities and other stakeholders and policies and regulations. Collaborates with external and internal departments and agencies to facilitate the smooth operation of the facility, adherence to regulating entities' policies, and optimal client/resident care

Our 16-bed facilities are designed for adults facing mental health challenges or recovering from a recent crisis who require intensive treatment. Offering 24/7 programs as an alternative to urgent care or hospitalization, these facilities provide a homelike setting where individuals can live short-term while receiving counseling and learning basic living and interpersonal skills. Residents benefit from physical and psychological evaluations, mental health and case management services, and assistance with locating permanent housing.
