Job Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing all maintenance operations to ensure the efficient functionality, safety, and cleanliness of bakery facilities and equipment. This role entails supervising the sanitation team, coordinating maintenance schedules, and performing hands-on maintenance tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to oversee maintenance and sanitation efforts seamlessly.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on bakery machinery, equipment, and systems to maintain optimal performance.
- Supervise the sanitation team to uphold cleanliness and safety standards, with a strong emphasis on health and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance and sanitation tasks to maximize workflow efficiency and minimize disruptions to bakery operations.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and sanitation activities, including work completed, repairs, and scheduling logs.
- Coordinate with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and support efficient production operations.
- Oversee the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the maintenance area, tools, and equipment storage.
- Collaborate with department leads to develop maintenance and sanitation schedules aligned with production requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance is preferred.
- Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory role, ideally within a food production or bakery setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with sanitation operations and regulatory compliance related to food production.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective task coordination and scheduling capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and engage in physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working in a variety of conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments, extreme temperatures, and within food production facilities.
