Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Processing and verification of invoices on a regular basis to ensure accurate payments in a timely manner.
• Maintaining an open invoice file, open packing slip file, and open purchase order file to keep track of all transactions.
• Matching invoices to packing slips and purchase orders, and verifying invoices for quantities, unit price extension, and discount.
• Coordinating with the purchasing group for invoices that do not align with purchase orders.
• Assigning account numbers to invoices for proper cost distribution in financial statements.
• Performing data entry tasks in the company's accounting/ERP software for voucher reports, supplier agings, remittance advices, checks, and journals.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with supplier accounting contacts.
• Keeping records of verbal and written correspondence with suppliers related to our account with them.
• Verifying month-end totals of account distribution, cash disbursements, and open items reports and coordinating closing to the general ledger.
• Assisting in the preparation of various reports necessary to produce financial statements.
• Developing basic knowledge of product lines, customer base, and supplier base.
• Backing up and assisting accounts receivable clerk as needed.
• Completing all other duties as assigned.

Skills: Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role
• Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficient in Data Entry and Invoice Processing
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Knowledge of accounting best practices and regulations
