Position Summary

The District Manager of Retail Operations will provide oversight, leadership and operational discipline and training for all locations in their assigned area. They will ensure execution of all company programs as needed. This position will also be accountable for and oversee inventory, compliance, quality, risk management and store appearance and maintenance in all locations for their assigned district.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory control and management for all retail stores within the district.

  • Monitor inventory levels and track product movements to ensure accurate stock levels.

  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and prevent loss or theft.

  • Interact with METRC and Dutchie to assure accurate receipt of inventory orders.

  • Work with the supply chain and finance team to assure accurate cogs and invoicing.

  • Integration audits between Dutchie and Metrc Daily to ensure inventory levels match.

  • Make sure all product master catalogs are aligned and match.

  • Ensure all products are imported within 24 hours of receiving and have aligned prices per location specific.

Compliance and regulatory requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements governing inventory management and tracking in the cannabis industry.

  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and update inventory management practices accordingly.

  • Be present for all CRA inspections, notify staff of products put on hold and ensure product is not sold until that product is released from metric.

Inventory Analysis and Forecasting:

  • Develop inventory replenishment strategies to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.

  • Utilize forecasting models and inventory management software to predict future inventory needs.

  • Collaborate with sales and supply chain teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and inventory plans.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and safety of cannabis products.

  • Monitor product quality and expiration dates to prevent the sale of expired or compromised products.

  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify any issues with inventory items.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and guidance to inventory staff on best practices for inventory management and control.

  • Develop training materials and resources to educate staff on inventory tracking procedures and compliance requirements.

  • Foster a culture of accountability and accuracy among inventory teams.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate inventory reports and analysis to provide insights into inventory performance and trends.

  • Present inventory data and analysis to senior management to support decision-making processes.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains based on inventory data.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the inventory management process and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Implement security measures to protect inventory assets from theft, loss, or damage.

  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to assess the effectiveness of inventory control measures.

Store Appearance and Maintenance:

  • Assure that both the front and back of the store are clean by working with the store GM and the team.

  • Be the first point of contact for any small day to day maintenance issues.

  • Maintain relationship with any third party vendors for common operational maintenance i.e.- window cleaning, snow removal, doormat/rug replacement and cleaning, trash removal, and landscaping.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a management role.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Analytical and data-driven decision making ability.

  • Must be able to travel regularly, at least 75% of the time in the field.

  • Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the organization.
