The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an accounting specialist with excellent communication skills. This position performs a variety of finance and budgeting functions and/or transactions, using AZ360 and the AZ Procurement Portal (APP). Retrieves and compiles complex data from database systems and sources to prepare monthly reports and reconciliations. Enforce sanitation and security practices in accordance with agency policies, procedures and best practices.

- Processes sales orders, invoices and customer payments
- Resolves customer and sales representative issues
- Reconciles customer account discrepancies
- Processes customer refunds and credit memos as necessary
- Reviews, analyzes and approves fiscal transactions such as invoices and payments using AZ360 and Arizona Procurement Portal (APP) programs
- Prepares adjusting journal entries concerning accounts receivable
- Creates and applies credit memos and adjustments to customer accounts
- Researches and resolves accounting and invoice issues with customers and staff
- Confers with the Controller, Assistant Controller and other department management
- Recommends changes to departmental procedures to increase efficiency
- Attends weekly accounts meetings
- Meets with the Controller and Assistant Controller to review current accounts receivable aging
- Generates reports and prepares journal entries
- Drives on State business or to perform audits at outlying ACI shops
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Minimum of 12 semester hours of accounting classes or an Associate’s Degree in accounting from an accredited University
- Five (5) years of working experience in accounting
- Office procedures and management classes
