What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of After School and Child Care Programs position at State College Friends School?
SCFS seeks a Director of After School and Child Care Programs to cultivate and oversee a dynamic After School program for students in Pre-K through 8th Grade. The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of After School, as well as the development and implementation of programming informed by the central themes of SCFS’ academic and social-emotional curricula, collegial collaboration, Quaker pedagogy, and SCFS’s mission. Faculty and staff at SCFS thoughtfully engage people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences and foster an environment of trust, collaboration, and professionalism at school. A strong alignment with Quaker testimonies and progressive education -- in philosophy and practice -- is expected.
Responsibilities
- planning and oversight of After School and child care programming designed to engage students of all ages;
- oversight of After School and childcare attendance and billing using FACTS software;
- hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and supporting the professional growth of After School staff and child care staff;
- promotion and marketing of SCFS’ After School programs, guided by the Director of Enrollment Management, to secure robust registration and increased revenue;
- management of the After School and child care budgets;
- communication with families;
- closing the school at the end of the day.
Part-Time, Salaried: This position will include five days per week on site from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM during the school year. Must also be available to work select days during the school year from 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM to oversee child care on in-service days.
