JOB GRADE 11: $26.23 thru $32.79 Targeted Hourly Rate

Job SummaryThe Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of all credit union facilities. This position requires a deep understanding of building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures. This position is further responsible for contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of credit union facilities while ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with management to develop, implement, sustain, and report a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure the ongoing reliability of facility equipment and systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed maintenance records.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, security systems, and other facility-related equipment. Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Coordinate and interact with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities. Ensure adequate stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians. Provide guidance on best practices and ensure the team is skilled and knowledgeable in maintenance techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of facilities maintenance, including advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security and other building systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building meaningful relationships.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking concurrent projects of varying importance and complexity.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for emergency repairs, maintenance, and vendor management/oversight when work is performed off-hours.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy equipment, while working in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to continuously update skills and stay current with industry advancements.
  • Highly proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Job Related Travel - As required.
Education/Experience
  • Education or experience equivalent to a High School diploma or G.E.D certificate.
  • 7 plus years' of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance or similar within a professional / corporate environment.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Relevant professional certifications are preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
