Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work with management to develop, implement, sustain, and report a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure the ongoing reliability of facility equipment and systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed maintenance records.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, security systems, and other facility-related equipment. Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Coordinate and interact with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities. Ensure adequate stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians. Provide guidance on best practices and ensure the team is skilled and knowledgeable in maintenance techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of facilities maintenance, including advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security and other building systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building meaningful relationships.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking concurrent projects of varying importance and complexity.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for emergency repairs, maintenance, and vendor management/oversight when work is performed off-hours.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy equipment, while working in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to continuously update skills and stay current with industry advancements.
- Highly proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Job Related Travel - As required.
- Education or experience equivalent to a High School diploma or G.E.D certificate.
- 7 plus years' of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance or similar within a professional / corporate environment.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable.
- Relevant professional certifications are preferred but not required.
- Work in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace.
- Adhere to policy on Drug Free Workplace.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
