We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work on our Paper Delivery product team within Customer Communications (CC). This is an AWESOME opportunity to work on a team that supports the delivery of personalized transactional communications which are printed and mailed through State Farm's centralized Printing, Inserting and Mailing (PIM) Centers. This includes things like renewal notices, declarations pages, ID cards, billing statements, notices, and letters. We are a horizontal product team who works with all business partners, across both the legacy and modernization sides of the business.

Although we continue to influence and move towards a Digital First philosophy, there continues to be a need for printed communications, including the ability to print and mail legally required paper documents as well as undelivered electronic communications. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Ensure print jobs are configured correctly, have been adequately tested, meet USPS postal regulations, and are delivered in a timely manner.
• Assist business partners with designing their communications to meet USPS postal regulation requirements, as well as acceptance and operational testing to ensure their communications are "mailable".
• Handle service tickets and production issues, which may include assisting PIM Operations with troubleshooting issues related to print jobs in real time.

Competitive candidates will have the following skills/experience:

• Current or previous experience with print output management software, such as Ricoh Process Director (RPD).
• Experience with document composition print application development.
• Understanding of or experience with Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) print architecture.
• Understanding of batch print jobs and workflows, including use of TLE's and XML.
• Understanding of print requirements, such as cut-sheet vs. continuous feed paper, different types of envelopes, inserts, etc.

Other desired skills/experience include:

• Experience with coding and submitting JCL.
• Scripting language experience (JavaScript, Shell, Python, Groovy, Bash, CEL).
• Experience with Linux server technology and commands.
• Experience with coordination of print jobs used for acceptance and operational testing.
• Understanding of address standardization processes and U.S. Postal requirements for mailing.
• Knowledge of how things are processed at both the code and data levels. This includes the ability to analyze raw files, understand upstream & downstream dependencies and execute on multiple options.
• Understanding of archival systems (such as Control-D and iSEIT).
• Familiarity in design and development with automated test framework.
• Knowledge of coding, testing, content, design, print & branding standards.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery infrastructure (GIT, GitHub, GitLab).
• Experience with Service Management and using ServiceNow or similar tool.
• Experience with agile product management and using Agility/VersionOne or similar tool.
