Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration's General Services Division is offering a DoD-SkillBridge internship for the position of Warehouse Supervisor. This role is responsible for managing the warehouse that supports maintenance and repair operations. Key responsibilities include planning, monitoring, and coordinating the ordering, receipt, and dispatching of parts. The Warehouse Supervisor will utilize the computerized maintenance management system to track and maintain warehouse operations and manage inventory replenishment through the State's procurement system and/or P-card. Additionally, the intern will audit the inventory to ensure proper and accurate stock levels and the relevancy of items, respond to and update customers on the status of requests, and plan for current and future capacity needs. Producing weekly and monthly reports on warehouse operations is also a crucial part of this role.

Job Duties:

  • Manages inventory including min/max levels, inventory accuracy, reduction/elimination analysis, space optimization and ensures timely fulfillment of parts requests to customers
  • Audits inventory through cycle counts and produces weekly and monthly reports on operations, works with the State Procurement Office to establish cost and time efficient contracts
  • Researches state approved vendors for ordering, ensures purchasing is within State procurement guidelines, processes invoices, enters requisitions and works with management on procurement needs; including but not limited to providing assistance in developing RFQ scope of work
  • Provides staff supervision and conducts supervision duties
  • Provides software trainings to end users, serves as liaison for problem solving and escalation, and educates staff on inventory functions and best practices for performing tasks
  • Measures and publishes facilities KPI metrics to the management team and interprets data and recommends solutions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Inventory management including shipping, receiving, and inventory control
  • Special storage requirements for certain materials and supplies
  • Record keeping and report preparation
  • Office equipment such as computers, computer programs, tablets, smartphones, printers, copiers
  • Safety requirements
  • Safe operation of forklifts, truck lift gates, lifts, trucks
  • Safe and proper operation of tools and equipment. saws,drills, drain clearing machines
  • State Procurement Rules
  • Receiving and issuing inventory and appropriate documentation required for tracking

  • Safe and proper operation of tools and equipment including but not limited to fork lifts, lifts, trucks and lift gates, saws, drills, and drain clearing machines
