State of California is Hiring a Registered Nurse (Safety) Near Porterville, CA

The Registered Nurse (Safety) provides professional nursing care and training for patients/clients following established standards and procedures. As a Registry employee, the RN (S) may be requested to work on any unit, any shift, any day of the week. ACLS certification must be obtained within one year of employment. All RN's working in Medical Services through the Registry will be expected to maintain certification in ACLS.
This is a limited-term position that may be extended.
This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only.

Working Conditions
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Ongoing interaction with clients. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; Must be able to participate in client containment, intervention or restraint. Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts; Must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so

Department Information
The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
