Responsibilities Your Specific Responsibilities: This is professional work providing consulting services to the Reemployment Assistance Services Office to improve management capabilities and operational procedures. This position involves independent, complex administrative work providing management coordination of multiple processes within the Office of Reemployment Assistance Services.
Consults with and assists RA Program supervisors and other staff in the planning, developing and implementation of quality assurances and training policies and procedures in all special programs. Evaluates key performance indicators for reporting on section processes for quality management. Identifies core process difficulties hindering the accomplishments, monitors and presents results of surveys and recommendations of process improvements.
Consults with administrators, program supervisors and other process partners to resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems relating to the reemployment assistance benefit payment process and monetary determinations process for all programs which may include Special Payments, Wage Determinations, Combined Wage Claim (CWC), Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), Trade Readjustment (TRA), Training Investment Program (TIP), Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Federal Employees (UCFE), Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Servicemen (UCX), and other programs. Investigates, analyzes, assesses and makes recommendations to resolve issues. Recommends operation policies and assists with the establishment of procedures as required for state and federal law changes, or as related to specific objectives.
Complete special project assignments, coordinating with associates, sections, bureaus, employers and employer representatives as needed. Coordinates, directs and reviews phases of documentation required to provide management reports. Respond to inquiries regarding specific problems or the Reemployment Assistance Program in general. Prepare written responses as directed. Compile and maintain required management reports and documentation.
Provide Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) Security Officer duties for the Determinations Section. Authorize RACF security and issue user identification. Maintain current listing of RACF associates and updating of profiles.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledge of reemployment assistance law, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to reemployment assistance programs.
  • Ability to review reemployment assistance functions to measure effectiveness.
  • Ability to develop training materials and train others.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Qualifications As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. Minimum
  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
Preferred
  • Have at least two (2) years of experience working in the Reemployment Assistance (RA) Program Adjudication Unit.
