Your Specific Responsibilities :

T he Senior Clerk position is under the direct supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor.

This position accepts and receipts payments of services and provides a receipt to all customers as required. Responsible for cash drawer and security of monies received, daily cash drawer monies balanced.

Enter billing information daily. Works closely with the billing department and under the supervision of the health services manager.

Acknowledges clients checking in for services. Provides receipt for services, verifies information on intake forms. Enters the updated demographic and financial information into HMS, advises the client of costs, address client questions when necessary.

Accepts payments for services from clients, advises client of any past due balances, with an effort to collect payment at that time.

Maintains all payments received, cash, checks, or credit cards.

Appropriately schedule and re-schedule client appointments utilizing the HMS patient data base according to the existing clinic schedule templates.

Complete all information for financial status, checking all Insurance data bases for current coverage, scanning all documents into HMS, making phone calls, sending letters, and calling clients as a reminder for appointment.

Performs related work as required as back up for Medical Records. (copy, scan, fax medical information to legal, or other medical offices per request).

Serves as back up for assisting PEPW clients in interviewing for temporary PEPW services in coordination with the Department of Children and Family Services.

Completes application with all documentation and follow up for review after 45 days to ensure completion of services. Also, serves as back up to Family Planning Waiver personnel.

Employee will initiate services when personnel away from office.

Schedules appointments for Breast and Cervical / TB / Epilepsy / Insulin Clients, mails out Insulin and Epilepsy program applications, determine program eligibility.

Responsible for completing and matching all Employee Activity Records (EAR) to pay period. EAR's are to be certified within 1 day of close of pay period with 100% of time accounted for.

Applicant will serve as back up to the Records Technician processing Vital Statistics Birth and Death certificates. Assist all external customers;

ensuring applications and supporting documentation is accurate prior to issuing certificates. Will ensure certified paper is kept safe and properly accounted for.
