DescriptionThis is a highly responsible position located within the Department of Children and Families (DCF) in the Office of Child and Family Well-Being, (OCFW). This is independent work in which the incumbent will serve as both a human resource and employee engagement liaison. The incumbent in this position will play an integral role in the coordination of human resource and employee engagement activities such as resourcing, hiring, onboarding staff, assisting with planning, managing, and implementing special employee engagement events and activities throughout the year. The incumbent will be responsible for building strong relationships with our internal customers, creating a welcoming environment for our new hires, and supporting our leadership team. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist and respond to all internal and external HR related inquires and/or requests from Hiring Managers and applicants.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified applicants for vacant positions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, candidate selection criteria, and post requisitions (Job Advertisements) for vacant positions.
  • Maintain and analyze vacancy reports and offer recommendations for effectively filling vacancies.
  • Maintain compliance with Department policies and procedures, federal, state, and local employment laws, and regulations
  • Perform human resource activities such as onboarding and the compiling of candidate packages, employee separation packages, and classification actions.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and best practices in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Provide recommendations for improving processes to ensure the highest standard of timeliness, accuracy, and quality of hiring practices.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline
  • Develop and train hiring managers on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the coordination and development of employee engagement events and activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing an employee engagement strategy and implementation plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
