State of Georgia is Hiring a LANIER TECHNICAL COLLEGE - PART-TIME ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - BANKS COUNTY Near Homer, GA

Lanier Technical College – Adult Education Department - Banks County; is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA-exempt position. POSITION: PART-TIME ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - BANKS COUNTY; HOMER, GA

REPORTS TO: ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - MATH ABE
HOURLY RATE: $20 per hour
WORK SCHEDULE: TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS, 5PM - 8PM, ON A WEEKLY BASIS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, is responsible for classroom instruction and evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. This position is a temporary teaching position and is based on student enrollment each term. It does not include any benefits or a promise of future full-time employment. Will provide Math ABE instruction.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Teach basic math and soft skills to adult education students.
  • Preparation of lesson plans and counseling notes for classroom instruction
  • Evaluation of students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
Participates in staff development and staff meetings as required
Assists with post-testing, as needed
  • Follow curriculum and College and Career Readiness Standards (training provided)
  • Complete reports accurately and timely
  • Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere in the classroom

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Education or closely related field from an accredited College or University

COMPETENCIES:
  • Skill in the use of computers and job-related software, including GALIS
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Skill in interpersonal relations
  • Ability to adapt instructional material to fit all learning styles
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of effective instructional methods for adult learners
  • Knowledge of community needs within Service Delivery Area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
Two (2) years of work-related experience.
