State of Georgia is Hiring a Records Clerk- Central Office- Decatur, Georgia (ADM) Near Decatur, GA

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist agency/department in basic record management in accordance with established guidelines;
  • Reports to appropriate personnel all records and information management concerns in a timely manner;
  • Ensures that information contained in retention schedule applications are complete and accurate and in compliance with established guidelines;
  • Informs appropriate personnel of new or changes of policies and procedures developed by the State Records and Information Management Program as needed;
  • Ensures that container lists/inventories are created for each box of records to be transferred in accordance with applicable guidelines;
  • Compiles and maintains statistical reports reflecting the records activity of the agency/department;
  • Recommends changes and modifications in records management practices based on statistical reports as needed;
  • Treats customers with respect, courtesy and tact; communicates with customers and obtains all required information necessary to determine and address their specific needs.
Specific Duties
  • Participate in site evaluations to determine if agency records are being maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures;
  • Keep documented notes of site findings and convert into a detailed report to the Records Information Manager;
  • Share with driving a state vehicle to visit approximately 108 customer sites twice per year;
  • Utilize existing policies and procedures to become a subject-matter-expert for records management;
  • Be physically fit to lift records boxes that may weigh 30 pounds or less as needed;
  • Responsible for acquiring a vehicle for site visits through the agency vehicle reservation system as instructed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED Certification
  • Strong customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two to three years of experience working in record-keeping or data entry.
  • Knowledge of database and file management systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency and strong administrative skills
  • Attention to detail
