DescriptionOpportunity at the Idaho Department of Insurance!
TheIdaho Department of Insurance (DOI)is searching for a Front Desk Customer Service Representative 1.This position duties are at the front desk for the Idaho Department of Insurance. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and a self-starter that can provide high quality customer service to our visitors, employees, and the public. We will provide paid training and continuous support to the chosen candidate.
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, onsite at our agency location in the downtown Boise office. This role will receive paid holidays and weekends off. This is a great opportunity for those looking for full-time employment with state health benefits and a PERSI Base retirement plan.

  • Greets visitors and provides information/assistance.
  • Answers telephone, routes calls, and takes/delivers messages.
  • Receives and handles cash andchecks.
  • Verifies cash receipts, prepares, and enters deposit documents into the statewide accounting system.
  • Maintains and updates files such as: purchase requests, asset records, state contracts, department record storage, and policies for the Fiscal section.
ExperienceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Questioning customers to obtain detailed information in a business setting. Typically gained by at least six months providing customer service in a business setting. “Customer Service” in this case means that you will have spent more than 50% of your time in a job actively listening to being attentive to answering questions from, providing options to, fulfilling services for, solving problems for, and/or resolving complaints from multiple customers.
  • Explaining policies, procedures, or rules Independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting. Typically gained by at least six months explaining policies, procedures, or rules frequently as part of your job duties.
  • Answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette. Typically gained by six months of work experience answering a multi-line business telephone and directing calls using proper telephone etiquette.
  • Reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness. Typically gained by at least six months experience reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy in a professional capacity.
  • Accessing data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by at least six months of using computers to access data in a job where it was a primary role of your position.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONThe person in this position covers our front desk/reception area and is required to:
  • Attend work reliably according to work schedule.
  • Have the manual dexterity to work with small components with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred/Desired Qualification:Experience maintaining confidentiality of non-public information.
