Position Overview

As a Field Service Representative, you will be part of a diverse team who provides opportunities designed to assist individuals in making a successful transition from a corrections environment to the community. Job Responsibilities

  • Performs counseling and case management functions to help prepare individuals to release to the community.
  • Serves as a liaison for enhancement of the reentry program initiatives, fostering a relationship that utilizes community resources and parole staff to empower and prepare the individual for reentry into society.
  • Prepares and disseminates release documents and conducts Offender 360 (O360) input for individual’s release plans.
  • Completes data reporting duties utilizing the case management and O360 systems.
  • Maintains release tickler files for each individual as well as parole violators.
  • Serves as back up to the other Correctional Counselor III’s in the Clinical Services Unit during times of absence.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences.

Requires two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in corrections, behavioral, social sciences, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience coordinating services between community and governmental agencies.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience working with state and county housing entities.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience utilizing departmental computer systems.
  • Prefers extensive knowledge of counseling and guidance principles and techniques.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience providing assistance with placement or transition into to the community.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in working with state and county agencies, or equivalent, regarding registry requirements for criminal convictions.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires written and spoken knowledge of the English language.
  • Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
