Job DescriptionThe 5th Judicial District’s Polk County Clerk of Court has an immediate for a Judicial Specialist 2 in the Small Claims Division. The starting salary for new State of Iowa Judicial employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The pay range is $38,667.20 to $59,571.20.Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00A – 4:30P

Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise. To be successful in this position you will need to have the following:

This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.Minimum Qualification RequirementsGraduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.
Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience. Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
