Two years of experience in the plastering trade.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in the plastering trade will substitute for the required experience on a month for month basis.Function of Work: To plaster and repair plaster on ceilings and walls. Level of Work: Experienced. Supervision Received: General from a Plasterer Foreman or Mason Foreman. Supervision Exercised: None. Location of Work: May be used by all state agencies. Job Distinctions: Differs from Apprentice and Buildings, Grounds and Equipment Maintenance Repairer jobs by the performance of journeyman level plastering work. Differs from Plasterer Foreman by the lack of supervisory duties.Mixes and matches plaster and cement. May install or repair lath. Plasters newly constructed walls and ceilings on metal and wood lath, tile, and brick; applies the necessary number of coats and finishes plaster to match the existing finish of the building. Patches old plaster, removes loose plaster, cuts out cracks, and applies new plaster. Performs incidental related cement repair jobs. Directs and trains assigned helpers and apprentices.
