Main Purpose of JobThis position will ensure the timely enrollment of low-income Medicare entitled persons in the federally mandated Buy-In Program. To ensure payment of Medicare Premiums that guarantees Medicare insurance for this population, and to implement Federal and State policies, regulations and guidelines that govern eligibility for the provision of Medicare and Buy-In services. This position will provide customer service to recipients and other agencies regarding issues related to both Medicare and Medical Assistance eligibility. To provide on-going Medicare Buy-In eligibility for approximately 135,000 individuals certified through the State’s Medical Assistance Program. This position has the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of the Medicare Buy-In Program by researching, resolving, and updating complex Medical Assistance cases.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.
Notes
  • Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
Desired Or Preferred QualificationsThe desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience with Medical Assistance policies, regulations, and guidelines
  • Experience with various federal and state data systems
  • Experience exercising discretion and independent judgment directly related to Medical Assistance Program data and situations
