This position serves our partners at the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The MNIT DEED team provides technical support to help improve employment conditions in Minnesota. The team supports work that improves workforce and community development, increases business recruitment, and helps Minnesota small businesses to expand into international trade.
Come join Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) partnering with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) to work on DEED’s Workforce Development Systems. This posting will hire an individual who will work together, along with other IT professionals and DEED agency professionals, to modernize DEED's Workforce Development Systems and digital services; making them more functional and easier for our customers to navigate.
This position will perform business analysis functions using a set of tasks and techniques to successfully act as a liaison among stakeholders to help clarify and understand the structure, policies, operations, and to recommend solutions that enable projects to be successful and goals to be met. Your position includes participating in and leading requirements gathering sessions to analyze, define and document business processes, software requirements, data management systems and development of specifications for technology initiatives.
The Advanced/Lead Business Analyst will work as a liaison between the Business Product Owner, IT staff, and agency business subject matter experts in order to capture requirements and functional specifications. Much of your time will be spent guiding, consulting, and collaborating to document and validate requirements and understand business processes and translate them into configured, procured, and developed functionality.
The Advanced/Lead Business Analyst will work closely with the leadership team to coordinate and lead work by project team members with various skill sets and technical disciplines ranging across all supported services, technologies, and work units. In addition, this position may involve mentoring and coaching less experienced business analysts.
The incumbent will get to participate in and practice: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring; Elicitation; Requirements Management and Communication; Enterprise Analysis; Requirements Analysis; and Solution Assessment and Validation using industry best practices for generally accepted standards outlined in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), or equivalent industry standards and best practices, and by MNIT.
