Job Summary

As a Student Pathways Analyst in the Data Practice and Analytics division, you will enhance overall knowledge of K-12 educational programs and their outcomes through expanded use of the Statewide Longitudinal Education Data Systems (SLEDS) data and reports. Duties will include:

  • Conduct analyses that explore pathways to graduation, workforce participation, and a family-sustaining wage;
  • Evaluate associated outcomes for expanded or nontraditional K-12 programming options [such as online learning, rigorous course taking (e.g. concurrent or postsecondary enrollment options (PSEO), Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) classes)], participation in advanced examinations (e.g., AP, IB), Career and Technical (CTE) course concentration, and enrollment in state-approved alternative programs;
  • Investigate the links between demographic characteristics and educational pathway choice; and
  • Analyze multiple, interrelated pathways throughout students' education to examine how student experiences, program participation, and intermediate outcomes at various stages in students' K-12 educational experience are associated with, and may provide a key influence on, later K-12, postsecondary and workforce choices and attainment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of professional analysis experience

OR

A bachelor's or master's degree AND 2 years of professional analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, STATA)
  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience working on a research project
  • Experience working with people in other sectors
  • Experience with education data
