About the Position: The Behavioral Health Specialist II is professional, psychological work. Duties include intervention of problematic behavior, staff training, development of Integrated and Behavior Support Plans, programmatic in-servicing, alternative training, behavior drills, functional diagnostic assessments, client evaluations, data management, psychiatric clinic, monitoring of psychotropic medication, obtaining consents, Human Rights committee presentations, On-Call after hours psychological support, and any other duties in the provision of direct and indirect client services.Location Gautier Community Home
Preferred Qualifications: Requires Master's Degree in Psychology or a related field acceptable to the hiring agency, a minimum of 5-6 years of experience, and full licensure or certification (LPC, LMFT, LM/CSW, L/CMHT, L/CIDDT, L/CAT). **Agency Preferred Qualifications: Must be eligible to drive a State of Mississippi vehicle.

Examples of Work

Fourth-level professional work which involves providing psychotherapeutic interventions (individual, group, family therapy), developing intervention strategies, ensuring the implementation of the strategies, and initiating treatment plans. Under the direct supervision and oversight of an appropriately licensed or certified Behavioral Health professional, individuals in this classification also perform screening assessments of behavioral and emotional functioning, intelligence, achievement, and adaptive functioning. May serve in supervisory roles as based on organizational/facility guidelines, and may provide direct supervision to employees in less advanced classifications.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires Master's Degree in Psychology or a related field acceptable to the hiring agency, a minimum of 5-6 years of experience, and full licensure or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist (LCMHT), Licensed Certified Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Therapist (LCIDDT), or Licensed Certified Addictions Therapist (LCAT).
