Why You’ll Love This PositionOffice of Administration, Division of Accounting (OA-DOA) seeks a qualified professional for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Unit within OA-DOA. We are seeking a proactive team player who can apply critical thinking and problem solving to assist with the purchasing and accounts payable needs for state agencies regarding ARPA grants. What You’ll Do
Prepare, audit, and approve requests to purchase goods and services
Prepare, audit, and approve purchase orders using MissouriBUYS and SAMI
Prepare, audit, and approve invoices for payment using MissouriBUYS and SAMII
Prepare, review and approve journal vouchers for payment corrections and modifications
Monitor and resolve budget and funding issues for purchases and payments
Assist with other duties as assigned
This is a temporary, full-time, benefit-eligible position based upon federal ARPA funding. Position funding will end no later than December 31, 2026. Minimum QualificationsAll you need for success:
Working knowledge of the SAM II Financial System
Working knowledge of MissouriBUYS
Knowledge of Microsoft Access is desired, but not required
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, required
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the unit and with other agencies
Ability to initiate, process and review reports as needed for various processes
Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices and ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions
Two or more years of experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
OR A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in Accounting; and, two or more years of professional business or governmental accounting experience including the processing of financial data which requires the interpretation and application of established accounting procedures. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.Successful background check results are required for employment in this position.
