State of Missouri is Hiring a Health & Safety Analyst-DLS-Onsite Consultation Near Springfield, MO

Health and Safety Analyst

Annual Salary Range: $42,000.00-$63,192.00

What you will do:

  • Conduct on-site safety and health consultation visits to small businesses throughout the state of Missouri; identify safety and health hazards and ways to correct identified safety and health hazards; establish feasible correction due dates for the hazards identified;
  • Draft formal written reports from the findings of the on-site consultation visit;
  • Enter consultation data into an nation wide database;
  • Track and approve hazard corrections submitted by employers. Review and submit to the Program Manager hazard extension requests from the employers;
  • Attend continuing education in occupational safety and health to learn about new hazards and state of the art mitigation techniques for those hazards;
  • Conduct training on a variety of safety and health topics as needed.
  • Assist the Program Manager with special projects as needed.

All you need for success:

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science that includes 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene; or
  • A bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, occupational or industry safety, or related science

Desired Attributes

  • Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or similar certification.
  • Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
