This position will be responsible for the overall coordination and quality assurance of prevention and harm reduction programs, including the supervision of staff. The Prevention Services Coordinator will focus on policy and best practices, manage current and new funding to meet the ongoing needs in system infrastructure, assist in developing the necessary prevention workforce, and provide leadership and expertise in the areas of substance use prevention, harm reduction, suicide prevention, mental health wellness, and Veterans services. The ability to apply for and manage current and future funding in order to sustain and implement evidence-based prevention and harm reduction services in Missouri is an important focus of this position.

Applicants must be well organized and able to successfully manage multiple work priorities. This position requires existing knowledge of expertise around prevention and harm reduction policies, procedures and regulations or the ability and willingness to develop expertise in this area. Professional oral and written communication skills are essential. Sound judgement and strong critical thinking skills are needed to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate must have the ability to collaborate with others and work as a team player.
Eligibility:
Bachelor’s degree and 4-7 years of relevant experience. Substitutions may be allowed. Professional experience working in suicide prevention, substance use prevention, Mental Health First Aid, Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND), or primary prevention is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have experience with grant management.
Domicile:
This position is domiciled at Central Office in Jefferson City. This position may require travel with overnight stays when necessary. Distributed work considered, however, weekly in-office presence required.
