This is senior-level professional and/or supervisory work in the care and treatment of patients or residents in a facility of the Missouri Division of Youth Services. This position performs a variety of nursing functions; conducts or assists in the development of nursing assessments and health care plans, supervising other nurses in the region, and performing preventative nursing care.
The following tasks are the responsibility of the Registered Nurse (Senior):
Knowledge, skills & abilities
In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of current professional nursing theory, practices, and standards. Ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions under general professional supervision. Ability to supervise, evaluate, and instruct professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. OR A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; and, one or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse. OR An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a Diploma in Nursing; and, Two or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
Pursuant to State Law, this position requires accreditation, licensure, and/or professional or occupational license which is only available to holders of specific post-secondary degrees.
